AMD

Five new games have been announced, with the exception of Hitman 3, with more to come.

AMD’s FSR 2.0 (FidelityFX Super Resolution) frame rate boost feature that makes use of temporal scaling will be coming for Hitman 3 and a bunch of other games in the near time.

Team Red just published a blog post(which opens in a new tab) that reveals five new games coming to FSR 2.0 that including Hitman 3 as mentioned, Abyss World, Rescue Party: Live, Super People along with The Callisto Protocol.

AMD also informed us about eleven other games that will get the FSR 2.0 in the near future which include Microsoft Flight Simulator, Eve Online,And Forspoken (when it is released later in the year, it will also be the first game to be able to use DirectStorage specifically).

The complete listing of the 16 games that are due to be supported by FSR 2.0 is as the following:

  • Abyss World
  • Asterigos
  • Delysium
  • EVE Online
  • Forspoken
  • Grounded
  • Hitman 3
  • Microsoft Flight Simulator
  • NiShuiHan
  • Overprime
  • Perfect World Remake
  • Rescue Party: Live
  • Super People
  • Swordsman Remake
  • The Callisto Protocol
  • Unknown 9: Awakening

FSR 2.0 employs temporal upscaling. This makes it a huge improvement over FSR 1.0 that relied on spatial upscaling. The main difference is that, using temporal upscaling, FSR is drawing data to perform its magic, not only from the current frame that is in game, but from prior frames too, just like Nvidia DLSS does – and this results in a more quality image that is upscaled for quality.

Analysis: Exciting progress, as well FSR 1.0 games aren’t in the works

With 16 games already in the pipeline and three titles with the new technology this is 19 games that have either brought or are in the process of bringing FSR 2.0 onto the board.

If you didn’t catch it the game that launched using FSR 2.0 was Deathloop Since the time, we’ve seen the technology come into God of War and Farming Simulator 22. AMD has also released new benchmarks to the two games, demonstrating for instance the fact that God of War at 4K ultra setting using the RX 6950 XT clocked the benchmark of 66 frames-per-second (fps) in default. The speed increased significantly to 96 frames per second with FSR 2.0 with performance mode. It also reached 83 frames per second when using FSR 2.0 when in the quality setting (for the highest upscaled quality that looks like native 4K).).

It’s encouraging to observe FSR 2.0 improving in terms of raw numbers. Even when it’s true that a significant portion of the games being released aren’t as well-known However, there are some certain big names that are included.

The thing to take note of is that support is not yet revealed for FSR 1.0 in a few games. AMD stating that this is due to the game’s developers have begun to incorporate the technology a while long ago. Games that are receiving FSR 1.0 comprise Arma Reforger and Assassin’s creed Valhalla, Dolmen, Hitman 3, iRacing, Sniper Elite 5, The Elder Scrolls Online as well as V Rising.

That’s right, Hitman 3 is getting both FSR 1.0 and 2.0 support, giving people the choiceof which one to use, with FSR 1.0 having less stress on GPUs which results in lower performance obviously – but this means that those who have an older graphics card that isn’t in compliance with the hardware requirements for FSR 2.0 can still choose to use FSR 2.0 to increase frame rate.
