After Apple’s WWDC 2022 event, and the subsequent unveiling of its new silicon called the Apple M2 New benchmarks for this chip are beginning to surface on the internet.
According to Geekbench Database(opens in a new tab), and reported by 9to5mac This is the first benchmark we’ve ever seen using the latest silicon and it seems to support Apple’s claim of M1 vs. M2 benchmark, with Apple asserting that the M2 processor is 18% more efficient than the M1’s CPU and that the M2 GPU runs 35% more efficient than the one that’s in the M1.
The benchmark was first discovered in the hands of Vadim Yuryev The benchmark indicates that the M2’s speed is being 3.49GHz in comparison with the M1’s 3.2GHz that’s approximately 9% improvement. The M2’s single-core performance is 11.56 percent faster than the M1 while the multi-core performance of the M2 is 19.45 percent more efficient than that of the M1.
When we’re able to examine the chip for ourselves and test it ourselves, we’ll be able to determine the performance score and whether they’re genuine however, it appears that Apple has come up with a remarkable chip.
Analyzing Apple’s decision eliminates Intel is more attractive with each new release
Apple’s decision to abandon Intel to use its own silicon is more prescient with each chip Apple releases.
If Geekbench scores are anything to go by the M2 chip from Apple is only beaten in single-core performance by Intel Alder Lake’s Core-i9 12900-K and i9-12900-KF chips. This is astonishing if it is true considering these are desktop-grade processors and not Mobile Alder Lake variants.
Apple’s departure from Intel was a huge hit to Team Blue, without question. But this year has been an excellent one for Intel because of the amazing performance of its brand new Alder Lake processors. When Apple M2 starts putting up the same sort of performance as we’ve seen in these benchmarks leaked and the like, then Alder Lake might not be the most talked-about processor for very long.
